Culture Exchange and Celebration

The Institute for Chinese Studies designs and organizes a variety of social and cultural events such as summer and winter camps and spirited celebrations of various Chinese festivals. Participation in these events exposes students to authentic Chinese culture and to linguistic learning as well.

The Institute also hosts annual events such as the Chinese Lunar New Year and the Mid-Autumn Festival that are sure to open student's eyes to life in China. These celebrations showcase the important and brilliant parts of Chinese culture by featuring art exhibitions, documentaries, paintings, calligraphy and traditional Chinese instrumental performances.

As an official Confucius Institute recognized by China, students who participate in the Chinese Language and Culture Training program have a chance to travel to China for two to three weeks. These trips will impart a level of cultural insight into China's rich culture giving students an opportunity to explore up-close and personal the dynamic and captivating lives of the Chinese people.
